CTA/NEA-Retired exists as a strong voice for education in national, state, and local policymaking. Our goals include protecting pensions and material benefits for retired educators, channeling the institutional knowledge of our members to support the professional and legislative agendas of CTA and NEA, opposing efforts to privatize Social Security or create barriers to accessible and affordable health care, expanding membership by welcoming new members from all ethnic and minority backgrounds, committing to the concept of free and quality public education for all students, and providing local and regional opportunities for members to meet and grow in their shared values and activities.
